Jewels in the sky....that is what my running friend said this morning as we prepared to run in the park....the darkness was all around but the moon and 2 stars were glowing above us and showed us the way down the road..,...
Pat pat pat......the steady beat of our feet on the concrete.....helps us to move on down the road...."pat pat pat" became a mantra for me during a difficult time....the pet name my best friend and husband called me all through our marriage when we were by ourselves.......he new that it was not a favorite of mine when one day this obnoxious person called me by that name....after that...it became a joke to call me pat...I called him Ron.....his stuck....mine was just used in fun....and after a while...well....I liked it...as long as he was the only one who called me by that name..........when I thought of him which was a lot during the years I first started running.....I was always alone in the early mornings.....I would carry him and a few others with me to keep me company....and that is what I would hear......the pat pat pat of my own 2 feet.....keeping time to my thoughts and the movement of a very slow run.... :-)...
The half marathon was great....the run itself was organized and there were plenty of water stops on a hot hot day.....I did not break any records my friend got sick...and we slowed down to get through.....but I felt good about it because I knew that we were prepared.....we plan to do another next month in our park...just for us......and to see how well we can do.......in the fall we are planning some others....I can't wait!...the weather should be cooler and we may go to some places further up north just to make sure of that...!!!!....
I am getting ready to go to the beach.....and I cannot wait...the boys and I are soo ready to get away from here...they are taking a car....so, they think they are something!!!!....
to all.....I'll be here more....because I'll have the time.....
:-)
